Credit Suisse Geneva victorious

Monaco, Sunday 2 July. 25 years'old already, The Interbank Challenge - ERI Trophy has attracted enthusiastic sailors from Monaco's banking sector for the last quarter of a century. ERI, the leading banking software provider, sponsors the event which is organised by the Monaco Yacht Club, under the distinguished patronage of the Monaco Association for Financial Activities.

For the 2017 edition, some 50 competitors, representing 9 teams, came to sport their banks'colours.

Team spirit takes pride of place
The event, held exclusively for banking and financial institutions, seeks to foster team spirit. The programme for this year's race, blessed with beautiful sunny weather, was as follows: a two-day regatta on board J/70s, volunteered by the boat owners of the J/70 Monaco Class Association. Intended as a fun event, the race is also an opportunity for amateurs to take part in a sports competition. And after all these editions, the number of competitors has never dropped off.

Credit Suisse Geneva rules supreme
On Saturday 1 July, the boats met just off the coast of Monaco and raced two legs, dominated from start to finish by Credit Suisse Geneva (Sopwith Camel). Incidentally, Credit Suisse also competed in the last Primo Cup.

On Sunday, the boats headed to Cap d?Ail for the last race of the weekend, also won by Credit Suisse Geneva. First up was an inshore race from Monaco to Mala beach, where lunch was served in the sun at a beach restaurant nestled between the cliffs: a perfect setting always appreciated by the competitors. The teams then returned to their boats and headed back to the Monaco Yacht Club to complete the race.

The race was once again a huge success: there was a wonderful atmosphere to the proceedings and the sailors showed great team spirit and had lots of fun on the water, which is what sailing is all about.
